1992 Von Hayes, Angels, Rawlings model 434B game used and autographed bat
Bat is date stamped 1991, and labeled as an Angels bat. Hayes was traded from the Phillies to the Angels on December 8, 1991 so this bat order must have been placed in the final weeks of 1991 before the start of the ‘92 season. The 1992 season with the Angels would be Hayes’ last one in the big leagues due to a 1991 wrist injury.
Hayes was a 1989 All Star and member of the 1983 NL champion Phillies. He was a very good outfielder with the Phillies in the late 80’s with some pop in his bat. He was traded from Cleveland to Philadelphia in 1982 in a 5 for 1 deal, earning Hayes the nickname “Mr. 5 for 1”.
