1999-2001 Deivi Cruz, Tigers, Louisville Slugger model C271S game used bat.
For five of his nine MLB seasons, Cruz played shortstop for the Detroit Tigers. From 1999 to 2001, Cruz hit .284, .302, and .256, respectively. The year 2000 was Cruz’s best season, when he hit .302 with 10 homers and 82 RBIs in 156 games.
This model C271S (small knob) features numerous ball and bat rack marks. The cupped end and knob featured Cruz’s uniform #8 (later blacked out) along with the typical Tiger’s in-house weight labeling system marks. The bat also has a faint Deivi Cruz autograph along the barrel. There is an area of grain separation leading to a barrel crack from repeated use that finally took this bat out of action. All in all, a very nice example of a game used bat from this 1990s Tigers fan favorite.
